by Steven Thompson | October 2016

"With its fantastic location in the heart of  Bangkok, the Pathumwan Princess combines a relaxing atmosphere with amazing amenities – just perfect for any holidaymaker looking for an ultra-comfortable stay  and a memorable visit to Bangkok."

THE BACKGROUND: The Pathumwan Princess hotel, a haven in the heart of Bangkok’s buzzing shopping, entertainment and arts district, offers a sophisticated ambience and plenty of traditional Thai hospitality.

THE LOCATION: This multi-award- winning hotel towers above the city’s popular MBK Centre. A comfortable commute from both of Bangkok’s airports and with easy access to the Skytrain and a skywalk, the Pathumwan Princess is conveniently situated for those wishing to explore the city.

THE ROOM: My superior room with ultra-comfortable king-size bed was tastefully decorated and spacious with a large desk and seating area. The outer wall comprised of an enormous window offering views over the city. Wardrobe and luggage space was plentiful and the decent-sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower was clean and stocked with complimentary toiletries.

FACILITIES: The hotel has a state- of-the-art gym and Olympic Club with running track, tennis courts, badminton courts and a number of other facilities. The Desheli Diamond Treasure Spa offers anti-ageing luxury spa treatments and Thai massages. There is a large outdoor pool and Jacuzzi.

RESTAURANTS/BARS: The buffet breakfast in the CiTi Bistro offered a fabulous selection of morning foods from around the world. Tasty cocktails were served in the chilled atmosphere of the Studio Bar which featured live music. The lights on the outdoor pool area provided a beautiful backdrop for dinner at The Loop Restaurant, with its excellent choice of tasty Italian dishes.

THE RATES: The hotel offers an excellent choice of accommodation styles, ranging from a Superior Room from around THB 3,040 (£80) to the Pathumwan Horizon Terrace Suite from THB 8,640 (£200) a night.
