How to sell Utah
By April Waterstone – November 2019 – 2 minute read
Why sell it now?
Home to mountains, canyons, lakes and rivers, Utah's rolling landscape provides the perfect canvas for adventure whatever the season, and Delta Air Lines' Salt Lake City service is just about to become year-round. Starting December 20, Delta will be operating a winter flight direct into the state capital from London, just in time for the Beehive State’s ski season. And with Utah claiming to be home to 'the greatest snow on earth' - that's a significant selling hook.
Who to sell to
Adrenaline junkies and active travellers will never get bored in Utah, where outdoor sports and activities are available year-round. Families may enjoy taking in the scenery on a road-trip between the state’s national parks, while travellers young and old will want to experience Utah's night-skies – the state provides one of the best views of the Milky Way in North America.
What to sell
Any one of Utah’s ‘Mighty Five’ national parks, including Arches and Bryce Canyon, is perfect for activites like hiking, mountain biking and canyoneering. Combine with a trip to one of the spectacular state parks, including Antelope Island or Goblin Valley. And Natural Bridges National Monument is home to three remarkable formations carved by the force of water.
In January, fans of the movies will want to head to Park City for the much-acclaimed annual Sundance Film Festival.
When to sell it
In winter, Utah is best known for its 15 ski resorts including Park City Mountain, Deer Valley Resort, Alta, Sundance, and Snowbird.
In the autumn, the state comes alive with striking fall colours of russet and gold. And in summer it’s easy to keep cool enjoying watersports like kayaking and paddleboarding or whitewater rafting down the Colorado River.
How to sell it
Combine a visit to Utah with a trip to neighbouring states like Wyoming or Colorado, sell it as a single destination for winter sports or add it to a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas – the kaleidoscopic canyons of Zion National Park are less than a three-hour drive away.
Opening this winter is Park City’s new year-round action sports resort, Woodward. The centre will combine a huge indoor freestyle hall and an outdoor terrain park and tubing area, complete with chairlift. The centre is 27 miles from Salt Lake City and is planned to open November 2019.
Where to book it
