Fiji outlines care commitment with trade video
by Jessica Pook
Tourism Fiji has released a video to highlights its Care Fiji Commitment to the trade, ahead of reopening its borders.
The Care Fiji Commitment has been designed to reassure visitors that Fiji is a safe destination to visit by demonstrating the strict health and safety guidelines that are in place countrywide.
Policies include: enhanced sanitation across all tourism businesses, physical distancing practices, contact tracing protocols and “case identification” procedures.
All Fijian businesses are encouraged to join the programme and commit to adopting the Government’s Covid-19 Safe Guidelines through the nomination of a Wellness Ambassador, who will complete a training programme, create an action plan and train tourism front-liners on best practice Covid mitigation.
Visitors are also asked to commit to travelling responsibly, by abiding by the health and safety protocols and downloading the careFIJI contact tracing app.
The program has already been welcomed by more than 200 of the islands’ resorts, restaurants, tour operators and attractions.
As of now, Fiji’s borders are closed for international travellers, however, introduction of the Care Fiji Commitment represents the first step in assuring that Fiji is gearing up to welcome travellers safely back to its shores.
