Popular Thailand looking for agent digital sign-ups

Tourism Authority of Thailand UK (TAT) is encouraging agents to sign up to its forthcoming series of four webinars.

The interactive training sessions will highlight Thailand's main unique selling points, will suggest itinerary ideas, cover both the primary and secondary destinations of the country and provide product updates.

Four participating agents will win £100 in Love2shop vouchers.

During the presentation TAT will conduct a series of polls, said Betsie Barr, Trade Manager, for TAT UK.

“We want to keep people engaged; they will not be test questions but more about giving those listening in fun, memorable facts to take away with them.

"All four webinars will be the same, so agents will need only to join one of the sessions. It will be powerpoint based and I will share my screen and talk over the slides,” she added.

Each webinar will include Q&A’s and during each session TAT will be giving away £100 L2S vouchers, with winner chosen at random.

The webinar dates and times are: Wednesday, May 27; Wednesday, June 3; Wednesday, June 10; and Wednesday, June 17. Each of the sessions will start at 10.30 and will last around an hour.

Meanwhile TAT’s online training programme Thailand Expert, operated by Travel Uni, is proving popular during the COVID-19 lockdown.

New registrations between March 23 and May 14 numbered 446, compared to just 81 in the same period last year, a 450% increase.

Of those, 283 agents have already successfully completed the course.

Barr added: "As a leading winter sun destination, it's important for us to support agents so they're prepared for the pick-up in sales we're expecting.

“November to March is peak season in Thailand and with strict new health and safety measures being put in place, certified by the Ministry of Health, Thailand is ready to welcome holidaymakers again.

“Nothing beats in-person training though and we can't wait to get back out on the road when the time is right!”
